Officially founded and became the first chemical industry oriented university in China named as East China Institute of Chemical Technology.
1956
Received permission to admit graduate students, and began to enroll international students.
1960
Became "National Key University" directly under the Ministry of Education.
1965
The institute’s southwest branch was established in Zigong, Sichuan Province.
1993
Renamed as East China University of Science andTechnology (ECUST).
1996
Became National "211 Project" directly under the Ministry of Education.
2000
Started running the Graduate School, which was formally established later in June 2004.
2006
Established College of International Education(CIE) .
2008
Approved to build a“985 Project Innovation Platform”.
2009
Held the first EMBA opening ceremony.
2017
Selected to be National “Double First-Class Initiative”University.
